Free eye care and healthcare since 2003

Building hope. Saving lives.

We give free eye care and healthcare to families in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, through Umeed (Hope) Hospital, Murid, Chakwal and free camps in villages that have no clinic of their own.

Who we are

A small Nottingham charity with a clear vision

Al-Ain, meaning “the eye”, began in 2003 giving free eye care to people with treatable blindness. Today we also support basic healthcare and education, and run Umeed (Hope) Hospital for Murid and the surrounding villages of District Chakwal.

Our vision is simple: no one should have to pay for healthcare at the point of care. Since the hospital opened it has served over 60,000 patients.
