Who we are

Al-Ain International Welfare Trust (registered charity 1100246) is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can contact us at 45 Berridge Road,Nottingham NG7 6LW, by email at info@al-ain.org.ukor by phone on 0115 845 1217.

What we collect and why

When you send us a message

Our contact form asks for your name, email address, the topic of your message and the message itself. Your phone number is optional. We use these details only to reply to you and deal with your enquiry. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.

Messages are delivered to us through Netlify, the company that hosts this website, and are stored in our Netlify account. Netlify may process data outside the UK; where it does, it uses safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.

We keep messages only for as long as we need to deal with your enquiry, and we review and delete old messages at least once a year.

When you donate

Donations are made on PayPal’s secure website, not on ours. PayPal shares with us the details we need to record and acknowledge your gift, such as your name, email address and the amount. We never see your card details. PayPal’s own privacy notice explains how it uses your information.

When you visit the site

Like all websites, our hosting provider records technical information such as your IP address and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working. We don’t use this to identify you.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, so we don’t ask for cookie consent. Our fonts and images are served from our own site, so visiting a page doesn’t share your details with third parties. If you follow a link to PayPal, Facebook, X or YouTube, those sites have their own cookie policies.

Sharing your information

We never sell your information or share it for marketing. We share it only with the service providers named above, or where the law requires us to.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong
  • ask us to delete your information
  • object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it

To use any of these rights, email info@al-ain.org.uk or write to us at the address above. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.ukor on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
